JAS

is a rainwater system developed by Dr. John A. Herrero-Smith and his professional team. The engineering team composes of specialists of various fields such as designer, cost estimator, installation trainer, and also quality controller. With their wide diversity of knowledge and experience, JAS can provide the best design and installation of rainwater drainage system to clients. All JAS design and calculations comply with both BS EN 12056-3 and RIBA NBS R10 standard. A siphonic system with its unique specification requires as a minimum which allow the appropriate designers to carry out full designs using in-house Analytical calculations.

For both new buildings and existing buildings, JAS can gain points in LEED and certify by the Beam Plus assessments.

JAS Outlet

Requires less underground pipe work

  • Horizontal pipe runs – no fall required
  • Greater design flexibility on D/P Positions
  • Self-cleansing
  • Completely metallic in accordance with
  • the requirements of BS\EN 12056
  • Fully Patent protected
  • Utilises the JAS patented anti-vortex plate
  • (proven in sand\silt nuisance regions)

JAS Siphonic System is designed to eliminate air in the system, in order to increase the efficiency of flow. Outlets are specially designed to restrict the formation of “Vortex” above the outlet. Once water enters into tail pipes, it becomes full-bore flow at high velocity. This increase of flow capacity thus requires fewer and smaller downpipes. Comparison between Gravity System and JAS Siphonic System

JAS Siphonic system is used in buildings by combining rain water from several outlets into collecting main pipe and to a single downpipe. This creates total design freedom and creates by not having any downpipes inside of building.

Traditional Gravity SystemJAS Siphonic System
Water in Oscillating flowWater in full bore
More Outlet & Downpipes Required
Use of a single collection pipe to convey water

Demonstration in Ping Che

Wo Lee Steel Co. Ltd is the first company in Hong Kong demonstrates the Siphonic Systems.

The demonstration model is about 4 meters. Gravity system and JAS Siphonic System can be performed in this model; interested parties can see the comparisons between two systems.

The demonstration model is displayed in Ping Che, it is welcome to engineers, architects, designers and other who are interested in JAS Siphonic Systems, if you are the one, please contact : 2397 9038.
